The U.K.'s Sunday Mirror has published troubling photos of Nigella Lawson being gripped at the throat by her art dealer husband, Charles Saatchi.
According to the report, the 53-year-old television personality and her husband were dining at a London seafood restaurant when patrons at nearby tables noticed the couple arguing. Saatchi reportedly shouted angrily at Lawson and grabbed her neck four times.
Despite no attempts to intervene, an onlooker described the incident as "utterly shocking to watch."
I have no doubt she was scared. It was horrific, really. She was very tearful and was constantly dabbing her eyes."
Nigella was very, very upset. She had a real look of fear on her face. No man should do that to a woman. She raised her voice and got angry but at the same time was trying to calm him down, almost like you would try to calm down a child.
Saatchi eventually left the restaurant first, with Lawson following a short time later in tears.
A Scotland Yard rep told the Telegraph that while Lawson hadn't lodged a formal complaint, police were looking into the incident.
As the Telegraph noted, Lawson has since tweeted about food, but has made no mention of the attack.
