Credited with creating one of television's most beloved father figures -- the cable-knit sweater sporting Cliff Huxtable -- Bill Cosby has dispensed with plenty of parental advice over the years. But the 75-year-old actor and comedian used this Father's Day to remember one of his own children, Ennis Cosby, who was killed in an attempted robbery in 1997.

Cosby took to Facebook and Twitter on Sunday to celebrate the life of his son, who was diagnosed with dyslexia but went on to earn degrees from Morehouse College and Columbia University.

The proud father shared a photo of himself with Ennis and wrote: “Ennis William Cosby was our gift. And his gift is for you.”

On Cosby's website, the photo accompanied a YouTube video of "Ennis' Gift," a documentary about overcoming dyslexia.
