Stuart died of natural causes in her home in Beverly Hills. She was nominated for an Emmy for her role in the "Coda" episode of "The Wonder Years," in which she played a piano teacher. She also won an award from Soap Opera Digest for her acting on "The Young and the Restless."
Her most famous role, however, was in a classic episode of the "Twilight Zone." Stuart played a woman that underwent surgery to look "normal." She spent the entire episode bandaged up, and emerged as actress Donna Douglas with Stuart's voice.
Stuart got her start working for early TV programs in New York. She and her husband, actor Frank Maxwell, later moved to Los Angeles, where her career thrived. She had several guest star roles and was a regular actress on soap operas leading to her roles on "The Young and the Restless" and "General Hospital."
The highlight of her big-screen career was a film called "Winning," where she got to kiss actor Paul Newman on screen.
