Suleman, known popularly as "Octomom," is only eligible for welfare if she earns less than $119,000 in a year. The 37-year-old has 14 children, eight of whom were born at the same time.
The L.A. County Dept. of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation has chosen to target two locations, the home and office of Suleman's manager.
According to US Weekly, Suleman's financial troubles started in May 2012, when she filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
"I have had to make some very difficult decisions this year, and filing Chapter 7 was one of them," she said. "But I have to do what is best for my children, and I need a fresh start."
