Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Legendary New Orleans musician Fats Domino died Wednesday at the age of 89.
Domino's daughter confirmed the singer and pianist's death to WWL-TV anchor Eric Paulsen and noted that he died peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Legendary New Orleans musician Fats Domino died Wednesday at the age of 89. Domino's daughter confirmed the singer and pianist's death to WWL-TV anchor Eric Paulsen and noted that he died peacefully at home surrounded by family.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office told TMZ that Domino died of natural causes with his body being released to a funeral home. No autopsy was performed.
Fats Domino, real name Antoine Domino Jr., is best known for songs such as "The Fat Man," "Blueberry Hill," "Ain't That a Shame" and "I'm Walkin'" among many others.
Domino, who first got his start in the late 1940s as part of the band The Solid Senders, had a highly successful career selling over 65 million albums.
He was one of the first inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and was inducted by Billy Joel. Domino was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987.
Domino was last seen regularly in the public eye in his hometown of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina where he helped raise money for relief efforts.
