Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Dexter and Limitless alum Jennifer Carpenter says her fellow actress Kristen Bell helped her family find safety before Hurricane Irma roared through Florida.

"Gma&aunt were ready2 wear helmets N closet under eye of #HurricanIrma til @IMKristenBell found them a way out," Carpenter tweeted, along with a photo of her two, smiling relatives wearing bicycle helmets and a second image with the headgear on the floor of a closet with pillows and blankets.

Actor Josh Gad tweeted a similar message during the weekend, thanking his Frozen co-star Bell for finding accommodations for his parents, brothers, sister-in-law and their children in Orlando where she was staying.

Bell explained on social media she was unable to get out of Florida ahead of the storm. She appeared to make the best of a bad situation, however.

She shared on Twitter a video of her singing with a senior citizen, teasing her husband Dax Shepard: "Dear @daxshepard1, this is john. My side piece in orlando. I hope u understand. Im powerless over a man who serenades me. #Irma2017."

The Veronica Mars icon also posted a picture of her hugging an elderly lady with the caption: "Guys, Corey cries when she's happy too!!! #soulmates #HurricaneIrma #besthurricaneever #atriaseniorliving."

Another update from Bell said: "Some anonymous lovely ppl at the hotel treated the seniors to a spa station in the hall-spa music was playing #Irma2017 #besthurricaneever."
