May 26 (UPI) -- Melania Trump wore an extravagant coat from Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana on Friday.

The 47-year-old first lady sported a $51,500 floral jacket in Sicily, Italy, after receiving support from Dolce & Gabbana co-founder Stephano Gabbana this week.

Melania wore the coat sightseeing as her husband, President Donald Trump, met with world leaders at the G7 Summit, according to CNN. She and other spouses visited Chierici Palace City Hall of Catania.

"Thank you Mrs. Gentiloni & Mayor Bianco for hosting me at Chierici Palace today. #Catania #G7 #Italy," the first lady tweeted.

Melania had worn a black Dolce & Gabbana dress Wednesday to meet Pope Francis at the Vatican. Gabbana responded to backlash by thanking the first lady and sarcastically urging critics to boycott his brand.

"@flotus #melaniatrump #DGWoman THANK YOU" he wrote. "Haters!!!! Remember #boycottdolcegabbana please."

Gabbana's support stands in contrast to designers Tom Ford, Sophie Theallet and Marc Jacobs, who have said they have no interest in dressing Melania during Trump's presidency.
