May 19 (UPI) -- Steve Harvey is being sued by his ex-wife, Mary Shackelford, for $60 million, who says her life has never been the same following their divorce in 2005.
Shackelford is suing the television personality for a number of charges, according to court documents obtained by E! News, including child endangerment, torture, conspiracy against rights, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract and "soul murder" which the lawsuit lists as being "achieved by a combination of torture, deprivation and brainwashing."
"The plaintiff had [lost] her son, had her businesses taken from her, nowhere to live, all Mother's Days had been painful and empty," the lawsuit, which was filed in court by a "civil rights activist" in place of a lawyer, continues.
Shackelford mentions in the lawsuit that the pain of losing her son Wynton, which Harvey has custody of, has robbed her of the joy of Mother's Day and has left her suicidal and self-medicating in order to cope.
Harvey and Shackelford were married from 1996 to 2005. The Family Feud host then married Marjorie Bridges-Woods in 2007. In 2011, Shackelford posted a series of videos on YouTube claiming that Harvey had an affair during their marriage and that she was left with nothing following the divorce.
A judge slammed Shackelford in court for potentially breaking a gag order and for spreading false information as she received three homes, $40,000 each month through March 2009 and $1.5 million following the divorce, The New York Daily News reported.
