May 6 (UPI) -- Country music icon Loretta Lynn has been hospitalized in Nashville after she suffered a stroke at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.

"She is currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery," a post on her official Facebook page said Friday. "Loretta, who just celebrated her 85th birthday, has been advised by her doctors to stay off the road while she is recuperating. Regrettably, upcoming scheduled shows will be postponed."

Us Weekly said the singer-songwriter also canceled several shows last year after she was injured in a fall and had to undergo minor surgery.
