April 27 (UPI) -- Johnny Depp greeted fans as Jack Sparrow Wednesday inside Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The actor fully dressed as his signature character, stood amongst the attractions animatronics and chatted with parkgoers while swinging his sword.

"Everyone was surprised, shocked and excited to see him," an eyewitness detailed to E! News. "He acted exactly like his character in the movies."
Depp was also seen waving hello to Disneyland attendees from a balcony outside the ride.
The surprise appearance comes a month before Depp will be seen as Jack Sparrow once again in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales which opens in theaters on May 26.
"The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Capt. Jack feeling the winds of ill fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Capt. Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea -- notably Jack," reads the synopsis.
