Thor, Chun-Li team up in 'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite' game trailer

April 25 (UPI) -- Heroes from Marvel Comics and video game company Capcom join forces in a new cinematic trailer for upcoming fighting game crossover, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

The clip, released Tuesday, introduces the title's new pair of villains, Ultron of Avengers fame and Sigma from Mega Man X who fuse together to become a more powerful being.

After taking over Thor's home world of Asgard and enslaving his people, The God of Thunder along with Marvel characters Captain America, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye and Iron Man confront Ultron Sigma alongside Capcom stars Chun-Li from Street Fighter, Chris Redfield from Resident Evil and Mega Man X.

Marvel's Hulk and Rocket Raccoon and Capcom's Strider Hiryu are also shown. Addiotnal playable characters will include Ryu from Street Fighter and Morrigan from Darkstalkers.

"For the first time in franchise history, the Marvel and Capcom universes collide in a visually stunning and immersive cinematic Story Mode, as heroes and villains battle together to save their merged worlds from a sinister new threat, Ultron Sigma," Capcom says in a statement.

"A combination of the robotic foes known as Ultron from the Marvel Universe and Sigma from the Capcom Universe, this psychotic villain is obsessed with infecting all organic life with a cybernetic virus. History's greatest gathering of warriors must now unite to fight back against Ultron Sigma and save their newly formed world."

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is set to launch for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on Sept. 19.

Retail versions of the game will include a Deluxe Edition that features the 2017 character pass that will net players six additional characters and a Collector's Edition for Playstation 4 and Xbox One that contains "four premium character dioramas" of Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Mega Man X and Chun-Li along with six Infinity Stone replicas for $199.99.
