April 24 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber looked back on his 2014 DUI arrest and noted he is a changed person who is still improving in an Instagram post.

"I love this because it reminds me I'm not exactly where I want to be but thank god I'm not where I used to be!!" the pop star wrote alongside a photo featuring his mugshot from 2014 and a recent snap side by side.

"The best is yet to come do you believe it?" he continued.

Bieber was arrested for DUI, driving with an expired license and resisting arrest without violence in January of 2014 when he was caught drag racing after leaving a Miami Beach nightclub. The singer was said to have told police that he drank a beer, took anti-depressants and smoked marijuana before he was arrested.

Bieber would avoid jail time by pleading guilty to reckless driving, donating to a children's charity, agreeing to take anger management classes and by meeting with victims of drunk driving.

In March, for his 23rd birthday, Bieber remarked on Instagram that he wanted to become a "better friend, better brother, better son and better man."
