Amber Tamblyn welcomes first child with husband David Cross

Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star Amber Tamblyn has given birth to her first child with husband David Cross.

"David and I are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Dauphinoise Petunia Brittany Scheherazade Von Funkinstein Mustard Witch RBG Cross Tamblyn-Bey jr. #TheFutureIsFemale," the actress wrote on Instagram Tuesday alongside a video of the newborn's foot moving inside a blanket.

Tamblyn first announced she was pregnant in an essay for Glamour in October.

"I've been thinking about motherhood a lot lately. What it means to be one, what it means to have one, what it means to know one, what it means to make decisions as one and have conversations with one," she wrote at the time.

"Motherhood has been heavily on my mind because I am going to be a mother soon. I'm pregnant, with a daughter on the way. I think constantly about the world I am bringing her into," Tamblyn continued.

Tamblyn, who is also known for starring in Two and a Half Men and Cross, who starred on Arrested Development married in 2012 after five years of dating.
