Bryant and Vanessa are already parents to two daughters, 13-year-old Natalia and 10-year-old Gianna. The couple married in Dana Point, Calif., in 2001, and announced they were expecting again in July.

"Beyond blessed and excited to share that we are expecting our third baby girl!!! #Blessed #BabyMamba #Thankful," the pair wrote on Instagram at the time.

The former Los Angeles Lakers star was equally enthusiastic at the 2016 ESPY Awards the same month. He gushed about his growing family during an interview with Access Hollywood at the ceremony.

"We're very blessed and very fortunate. Having three girls is a huge, huge blessing," he said.

Bryant's friend and Los Angeles Clippers player Chris Paul was among those to offer their congratulations to the new dad-of-three. Paul said it was "great" to hear Bryant had another daughter, but encouraged the star to keep trying for a son.
