LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Victoria's Secret is showing its support for Cara Delevingne following an unflattering report about her appearance.

The lingerie company offered the 24-year-old English model a spot in its 2016 fashion show after The Sun claimed Delevingne was deemed too "bloated" for the event in 2014.

Delevingne shared a letter from Victoria's Secret CMO Edward Razek on Friday, writing, "It's shameless to discuss women's bodies just to sell papers #bloated." The letter reveals Delevingne missed the 2014 show in London because she was filming a movie in the United States.

"Victoria's Secret rarely comments on tabloid gossip, but this week's article in British paper The Sun regarding you and the 2014 Victoria's Secret fashion show is a complete fabrication," Razek wrote.

"Contrary to The Sun's claims, which they never bothered to fact check with me, Victoria's Secret made every effort to have you in the London show," he added. "The alleged casting, where supposedly disparaging remarks were made, never happened."

"The sole reason you ultimately couldn't join us was the movie you were shooting in North Carolina," Razek explained. "So allow me to extend the invitation again. If you're free on November 30, please join us in Paris. Aw always, we'd love to have you. No casting necessary!"

The Sun had said in a since-deleted article that Victoria's Secret turned down Delevingne for its 2014 show because she was too "bloated" at casting. Delevingne has yet to announce if she will walk in the 2016 fashion show.

The 2016 Victoria's Secret fashion show will take place Dec. 5 in Paris. Delevingne previously walked for the company in 2012 and 2013, and is also known for her modeling work with Balmain, Burberry and Chanel.
