NEW YORK, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Chrissy Teigen fired back at a Twitter follower who tweeted at the model saying she was holding 6-month-old daughter Luna incorrectly.

"That's not how a baby is held," Teigen's follower tweeted at her, sharing a photo of the model carrying Luna to a car while in New York with husband John Legend recently.

"Really because that's how I'm [expletive] holding her," Teigen wrote back.

"I don't give a crap where that baby popped out from! Do not hold a baby like a handbag!" the follower responded.

"Well you hold your handbag like a [expletive] idiot then," Teigen said.

The follower explained that "inappropriate" baby holding is a hot button issue for them, referencing a childhood mishap.

"Let me know how you hold your baby when she's about [to get] into a stroller and there are 20 camera flashes at night," Teigen responded. "Photos are literally split-second moments in time that evolve. I despise mommy shamers. I am a proud shamer of mommy shamers. Please do shut up."

Teigen recently made her Twitter account private, saying she "cannot handle it anymore."
