LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Former 'Beverly Hills 90210' heartthrob Luke Perry recently celebrated his 50th birthday and marked the occasion with an appearance on the cover of AARP Magazine.

Perry, who played Dylan McKay on the 1990s series, hit his milestone birthday on Oct. 11 and AARP responded by tweeting the image of its "special birthday cover" featuring Perry.

Though Perry was well into his 20s when the show began in 1990, fans still had a hard time believing the actor is now a half a century old.

"So... Luke Perry is on the cover of AARP magazine as its newest member. Does anyone else feel sick right now?" tweeted TV host Marc Lamont Hill.

Up next for Perry is a role on the CW's Riverdale, based on the Archie comics.

Perry is set to play Archie's dad, Fred Andrews, in the series which is slated for January or February 2017.
