WASHINGTON, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Nearly a month after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, Pitt was permitted to see some of his children in a visit with a monitor present.

Brad Pitt saw some, but not all, of his and Jolie's six children on October 8 when he visited them about a week after the exes agreed to a temporary custody agreement granting Jolie sole custody and giving Pitt visitation rights.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on September 19, five days after Pitt allegedly got into a physical altercation with one of his children while arguing with Jolie while drunk aboard an airplane.

The agreement made it possible for Pitt to finally see his children a month after the divorce announcement, though it required at least the first visit to be in the presence of a therapist.

It is unknown if future visits are also require supervision or monitoring, but both Pitt and Jolie are required by the agreement to seek individual counseling. Pitt also volunteered to submit to random drug and alcohol testing to prove he does not have dependence or addiction issues.

The temporary agreement grants sole custody of the former couple's six children to Jolie, although they still share legal custody. On October 20, social workers will evaluate reports from the therapists, as well as Pitt's drug and alcohol tests, as they start working with the couple to move their divorce proceedings forward.
