SYDNEY, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero was injured in an accident involving a bus and his tour van hours before a performance with his band, Frank Iero and The Patience.

Police said a bus struck the back of the band's van while Iero and two others were unloading. The two other men were standing at the back of the van when the bus collided with it.

Australia's 9 News noted that Iero escaped serious injury but the two others were taken to the hospital and are listed in "serious but stable" condition.

"The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time and the driver was taken to hospital for mandatory tests," the news report said.

Iero tweeted that they were "pretty banged up but miraculously alive & in stable condition."

"I'm still in a state of shock," he added.
