WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Chance the Rapper, Kelly Clarkson and Yolanda Adams will perform at the White House's National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Dec. 1.
Tickets for the annual event are free and are awarded via lottery system on Oct. 7 on the ceremony's website. The lighting of a national tree dates back to 1923 and President Calvin Coolidge who started the tradition with a local choir and a Marine band quartet.
