NEW YORK, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Taraji P. Henson responded to 50 Cent's diss, referring to the rapper/actor as "loose change" after he claimed Empire's ratings had fallen.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, 50 Cent shared a photo of Henson and a screenshot from a headline which claimed Empire's ratings were down following its Season 3 premiere.

"Well look at the bright side at least," he said. "You can eat your trophies."

Henson fired back with a screenshot of her own, this one from an article noting that Empire is still in the No. 1 spot when it comes to scripted shows.

"For the confused ppl. Do REAL research!!!" she said in the caption. "Loose change makes sooooooo much UNNECESSARY NOISE. STILL LOOKING FOR THAT DAMN CENT SIGN!!! I guess it's obsolete. AGAIN CONGRATS ON YOUR SUCCESS BLACK MAN!!! @50cent."

50 responded in another now-deleted post, claiming Empire creator Lee Daniels made him an offer to appear on the show which he turned down in favor of his own series, Power, which airs on Starz.

Henson stars as Lyon family matriarch Cookie on FOX's award-winning series which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Power airs at 9 p.m. on Sundays on Starz.
