NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Pink has taken to social media to defend Corey Feldman's recent Today performance following backlash from viewers.

"Well I love ya @Corey_Feldman and I know how much it takes to get up there and do your thing," the singer wrote on Twitter Sunday.

"Keep your head up and know that you're loved," she continued alongside a heart emoji.

Feldman had performed his song "Go 4 It," from his fifth album Angelic 2 the Core on Today Friday and was met with harsh criticism from critics on social media afterwards.

The actor, known for starring in a number of hit films from the '80s including The Lost Boys, Gremlins, The Goonies, Stand By Me and more, addressed the criticisms in a now deleted Facebook Live video where he described the negative comments as hurtful.

"We just wanted to tell everybody that it's been really painful," he said according to Billboard. "We put ourselves out there, and we did the best that we could. And, I've never had such mean things said about me. Like constantly."

"We can't get out of bed right now. We're petrified to even go out ... And I'm sorry, but we just wanted the world to know we're really freaked out over this and it's really not fair," he continued.
