UNCASVILLE, Conn., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- The Miz got in the face of Smackdown general manager Daniel Bryan Tuesday on WWE Talking Smack following comments that the Intercontinental Champion wrestled like a "coward."

"There is no gentle way to say it to me you wrestle like a coward. You wrestle like somebody who is afraid to get hit," Bryan said to The Miz following his Sunday victory against Apollo Crews at SummerSlam.

"When I was an independent guy and I was thinking what's the soft WWE style, it would be that," Bryan continued about The Miz's in-ring ability.

It was at this point that the lines between what is real and what is scripted in the WWE world began to become blurred as The Miz visibly upset, launched into an epic rant directed at Bryan and his career that was cut short earlier this year when he was forced to retire.

"Let's talk about cowards for one second," The Miz began alongside his wife Maryse. "The reason I wrestle the way I wrestle is because I can do it day in and day out all the time for ten plus years. I have never, never in my career ever have been injured. I don't get injured six months to a year. I am here each and every week. But you sit there and call me a coward?"

"Let me tell you about a coward," he continued now standing up. "Let me tell you about a guy who tells his WWE fans, the people that he loves that he will be back. He promises them I will be back in one year's time to claim this title but you didn't, Daniel, did you? But I'm the coward!"

"If they would let me come back, I would come back," Bryan responded, referencing injuries he suffered that led to him deciding to officially retire back in February.

The Miz then challenged Bryan to quit the WWE if he is still healthy and return to the "bingo halls with your indie friends" in order to continue wrestling. It was at this point that Bryan decided to leave the Talking Smack set despite host Renee Young's best efforts to calm things down.

"You're the coward. I am not the coward, I am your Intercontinental Champion," The Miz said screaming as he demanded respect. He would continue to look into the camera and explain how he will never lose his championship and that it will become the "most relevant title on Smackdown Live."

Talking Smack, a WWE Network exclusive program, launched at the start of August and offers exclusive interviews and analysis following new episodes of Smackdown Live every Tuesday.
