Lifetime working on Robert Durst TV movie

By Sarah Mulé

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Lifetime is developing a TV movie based on alleged murderer Robert Durst, who is believed to have killed his wife, a neighbor, and one of his longtime friends.

The Lifetime movie is expected to tell Durst's story from his wife -- and alleged first victim -- Kathie's perspective. She disappeared in 1982 and Durst has long been the only suspect in her disappearance.

The network is using Matt Birkbeck's book A Deadly Secret: The Bizarre and Chilling Story of Robert Durst to aid in the the script.

Durst's story was recently featured in HBO's docu-series The Jinx, which explored Kathie's disappearance as well as Durst's alleged role in the killings of his friend Susan Berman and his elderly neighbor Morris Black. His story was also the inspiration behind the 2010 film All Good Things starring Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst.

Durst was arrested in Louisiana on a weapons charge on March 14, 2015 on a firearm charge. He was acquitted of Black's murder in 2003 and is currently awaiting trial for Berman's.
