'Ghost Recon: Wildlands' Gamescom trailer explores character customization options

COLOGNE, Germany, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- The newest trailer for publisher Ubisoft's upcoming Tom Clancy military shooter, Ghost Recon: Wildlands features the game's character customization options.

The clip released Wednesday as part of the ongoing Gamescom convention in Cologne, Germany, highlights the various hats, shirts, pants and outfits players can choose from in order to personalize their created character as they take down a drug cartel in Bolivia.

"It's important for player immersion to be able to create your own Ghost," said Ghost Recon lead and technical director Laurent Fischer to Playstation Blog about the customization options seen in the trailer. "If the player can identify with their character, they will feel more immersed in the story and create their own adventures."

"Above all else, being able to customize your character is cool," he continued. "When we announced the game, we saw that character customization was one of the biggest requests from our community, so that confirmed we were on the right track."

Weapon customization is also featured in the video as players will be tasked with choosing the right firearm to tackle a given situation in order to complete a mission.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set to release on March 7, 2017 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
