BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Starz and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson are extending their partnership, the company said in a statement Tuesday.

Jackson is currently an executive producer for the Starz series Power, and is in the process of developing a screenplay with the network.

The upcoming project, called Tomorrow, Today, is a superhero series about a veteran from Chicago who becomes the guinea pig for a prison doctor who is trying to create the ideal man. The story follows the veteran as he is set free from prison and is learning how to live with his newfound powers.

"I knew Starz would be the perfect home for Tomorrow, Today," Jackson said. "This project is very personal to me ... creating it, writing it, finding the best team for it, and I will continue to be involved every step of the way."

Jackson's deal with Starz extends through 2018 and will allow the star and the network to develop additional projects through Jackson's G-Unit Film & Television production company.

The third season of Power premiered on Starz on July 17.
