"In this thrilling action film, John must use his connections from his past life and his skills as an ex-criminal to keep him and his daughter alive," reads the trailer's description.

The trailer follows a profanity-laced clip released in April, which announced the 60-year-old's first return to the screen since The Expendables 3 in 2014.

Diego Luna, William H. Macy, Thomas Mann and Elisabeth Rohm will also star in the film, which is set for release on Aug. 12, 2016.
