LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) -- Dennis Quaid's wife Kimberly is seeking a divorce once again.

Kimberly filed to end her marriage to the 62-year-old actor Tuesday in Los Angeles while Quaid was filming the Crackle series The Art of More in Vancouver, Canada, according to TMZ.

"After careful consideration, we have decided to end our 12 year marriage. The decision was made amicably and with mutual respect toward one another," the couple told the website in a statement.

Sources said Quaid and Kimberly have already sorted out much of the settlement and plan to share custody of their 8-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe. The pair vowed to remain "devoted partners in raising [their] children."

Quaid and Kimberly married in 2004 and welcomed their son and daughter via surrogate in 2007. Kimberly previously filed for divorce in March 2012 but withdrew the papers the next month.

"They have an explosive relationship but they do love each other," a source told E! News in May 2012. "They both still have very strong feelings for one another."

Quaid plays Samuel Brukner on The Art of More and will star in Season 2 of Fortitude on Sky Atlantic. He is also slated for the movie A Dog's Purpose with Britt Robertson and Bradley Cooper.
