ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 26 (UPI) -- WWE Superstar Sheamus threw out the first pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game Wednesday, where he asked for a second attempt to get it right.

As Sheamus took the mound and delivered his first pitch, the ball didn't land perfectly, prompting "The Celtic Warrior" to ask for another try.

Succeeding on his second attempt, Sheamus was seen celebrating as the crowd at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg cheered.

"2nd time is the charm for @WWESheamus as he throws out the 1st pitch for @RaysBaseball & @Marlins game," tweeted Tampa Bay sports radio station 620 WDAE alongside a video of the pitches.

Sheamus continues to make appearances outside the WWE as he promotes his latest film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows where he stars as the villainous Rocksteady. "When I got offered the opportunity, I was just concerned it was going to interfere with the WWE schedule," the Irish entertainer told reporters in New York Sunday.

"For example, the last two days, I was doing the [Turtles] press junkets and everything and then I just jumped in the car yesterday [afternoon after interviews,] drove up to Albany, wrestled last night, then came back last night. So, it was pretty hectic. [During filming,] I was going on a live-event tour from Friday, Saturday, Sunday and doing RAW Monday and jumping on a plane, landing in New York at 4 in the morning to be on set at 7. That was the biggest obstacle or thing I was worried about, but it was so much fun on set. It was so much fun working with all these guys, that no matter how tired you were, the minute you hit that set, the energy was up and it was time to play," he continued.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows opens in theaters June 3.

On Raw Monday, Sheamus lost to WWE main roster newcomer Sami Zayn for a chance to compete in the company's upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match.
