The tasting which premiered Tuesday, featured the country star joining Fallon for a full-course sushi meal at famed Japanese restaurant Nobu in New York City.

"You never tried sushi before?" Fallon asked before they took their seats. "I mean, no, not the raw stuff," Shelton replied.

After starting off with some sake which The Voice coach compared to "easter egg coloring," the duo then chowed down on a collection of sushi and raw fish entrees including yellowtail and sashimi.

"The texture is Play-Doh, but I will say this, man to man, I like how that tasted," Shelton said after trying out the tuna nigiri. The 39-year-old was less enthusiastic about the other dishes they sampled often looking away in disgust.

For all his efforts, Fallon presented Shelton with a Big Mac to end the meal. "Now we're talking!," he said surprised.

Shelton was last seen performing a duet with his girlfriend Gwen Stefani at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
