CANNES, France, May 12 (UPI) -- Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham gave fans a glimpse into their glamorous but playful friendship Wednesday in Cannes.

The 41-year-old American actress and 42-year-old British designer shared a series of photos together on social media while celebrating the first day of the 2016 Cannes International Film Festival.

Longoria and Beckham let their hair down after attending the festival's opening ceremony. The best friends posted a picture of themselves kicking up their heels, with Beckham writing, "High kicks in Cannes X @evalongoria Good night Cannes X #Girlsgirl."

Longoria wore a nude and white Pamella Roland dress to the ceremony and later changed into a lilac gown. Beckham, meanwhile, sported a black and white top and trouser set with a sparkling Chopard bracelet.

"I think every woman should have a close circle of friends to talk to," Longoria told Look magazine in 2012. "People keep saying they're envious of my friendship with Victoria Beckham, but we're pretty boring! We just talk about normal girl stuff, and I borrow her clothes."

Beckham, who announced a collaboration with Estée Lauder in April, wore makeup from her forthcoming collection on the red carpet. The designer will release a limited edition line with the cosmetics company in September.

"So excited to debut my new #VBxEsteeLauder collection the #Cannes2016 red carpet! x vb #redcarpet #smokyeye," she wrote of her look.
