Megan Fox on being an involved mom: 'It's exhausting'

LOS ANGELES, May 5 (UPI) -- Megan Fox intends to always be an involved mom to her two sons.

The 29-year-old actress discussed the importance of being an actively engaged parent in an interview with Business Insider. Fox shares sons Noah and Bodhi with estranged husband Brian Austin Green and is expecting her third child with the actor.

"I think you can never really anticipate how much sleep you're going to lose," Fox said of parenthood. "You're not going to sleep for at least 10 years. And people say that, but you can never prepare yourself. You don't understand."

"Then you have a choice, you can either engage your kids, which is what you're supposed to do, or you can check out and sit on your cell phone and computer, which I would never want to do," she revealed.

"If you choose to engage your children all day, every day, it's exhausting," the star admitted. "There's zero time for you to have adult thoughts, so your brain kind of turns to scrambled eggs sometimes. At the end of the day I've short-circuited. My brain doesn't work anymore."

Fox and Green split in August after five years of marriage but appear to have reconciled in the wake of the actress' pregnancy. The pair enjoyed a romantic getaway to Hawaii in April and were spotted at lunch together Wednesday in Encino, Cali.

"They had the best vacation and are reconsidering the divorce," a source told People. "They don't want their kids to grow up in a broken home. Brian is showing Megan that he really wants them to stay married. It seems Megan is finally agreeing."

Fox commented on motherhood to Business Insider while discussing her character in the mobile game Stormfall: Rise of Balur. The actress will next star in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which opens June 3.
