NEW YORK, March 30 (UPI) -- New-dad Seth Meyers recounted the story of his son Ash's birth, saying his wife almost delivered him while in an Uber on the way to the hospital.
Speaking Tuesday during his Late Night talk show, Meyers thanked those involved with helping he and his wife, Alexi Ashe, get to the hospital -- including their doorman and Uber driver.
"You can tell our doorman has been through this before, there have been flustered husbands coming down with very pregnant women on their way to the hospital," he said. "I can tell he had done this hundreds of times."
"I can tell from the expression on our Uber driver's face that this was the first time that he was doing anything like this," Meyers joked. "What we were was the opposite of jackpot."
The television host recounted his wife's condition during the drive to the hospital, saying she was on all-fours in the back seat of the car, screaming through the window throughout most of it.
The baby, named Ash Olsen Meyers after his grandmothers, was born Easter Sunday. Comedian Tracy Morgan, who appeared on Tuesday night's episode of Late Night, presented Meyers with a gift for the newborn: a bowl of condoms.
"Baby Meyers, don't get anyone pregnant before the age of 30. Love, Uncle Tracy," a note alongside the gift read.
"Oh, no Tracy," Meyers said in response to the gift.
"'Cause in the ghetto we use sex as a sedative," Morgan joked. "You're broke, I'm broke, let's go half on a baby."
