J.K. Rowling shares rejection letters 'to inspire'

LONDON, March 25 (UPI) -- J.K. Rowling heeded her fans' requests for a glimpse into her pile of rejection letters from her time writing Cormoran Strike novels.

The famed British author, who penned the renowned Harry Potter series, tweeted a photo of two typed letters Friday, making sure to block out the names and signature of the rejectors -- for their safety.

"By popular request, 2 of @RGalbrath's rejection letters! (For inspiration, not revenge, so I've removed signatures.)" Rowling wrote alongside the photo.

The two letters come from publishers Constable & Robinson and Creme De La Crime and were written to Robert Galbraith -- Rowling's pseudonym which she used to pitch her ideas for new books.

The move to share her letters came after a fan posted a photo of her own rejection letter, mentioning Rowling, who was denied many times before finding a willing publisher.

"I pinned my 1st rejection letter to my kitchen wall because it gave me something in common with all my fave writers," Rowling responded.

To inspire further, the famed writer, responded to another fan who asked how to muster up the courage to "risk it all for the things that I love when I don't have enough of a support system if all fails?"

She wrote, "I had nothing to lose and sometimes that makes you brave enough to try."
