Willow Smith named Chanel style ambassador

PARIS, March 8 (UPI) -- Willow Smith has been named as Chanel's latest style ambassador, following the footsteps of Lily-Rose Depp, Kristen Stewart and Keira Knightley.

The 15-year-old starlet and daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith shared a thank you note to Chanel chief fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld on Instagram Monday.

"Thank you Karl Lagerfeld and the entire team at Chanel for expanding the perceptions of 'beauty' by picking me to be the new Chanel ambassador," she wrote. "I am honored."

The model, singer and artist attended Chanel's Fall/Winter 2016 Front Row Only show in Paris alongside Lagerfeld, Pharrell Williams and her mother Monday, according to Vogue and social media.

Late last year, Smith released a surprise album of music titled Ardipithecus. The album, she explained in December, represents "the soil of my heart and finding bits and pieces of my ancient self that tell stories, which end up being lyrics to the songs."
