BELFAST, Northern Ireland, March 1 (UPI) -- British songstress Adele looked to help women propose to their significant others during a show in Belfast in honor of the leap year.
A fan video shows the "Hello" singer, born Adele Adkins, standing on stage in a packed stadium Monday at her 25 tour kickoff show calling for women who want to propose.
Toward the end of the clip, Adele invites an Essex woman who had already attempted a proposal earlier that day to join her.
"I asked him earlier today," the fan said into the singer's microphone. "He said maybe in a little while."
Adele, who is married to Simon Konecki, insisted the girl's boyfriend's answer was insufficient during the exchange. "You have to say a proper yes, bruv," she is heard saying to the man, named Neil.
"After three, everyone say, 'Come on, Neil!'" she said to her audience, eventually coaxing the man to accept his girlfriend's proposal.
In addition to the memorable proposal, Adele said she will attend the nuptials. "Essex? That's down the road from me," she said. "I'll come. I'll see you shaking your [expletive]."
According to European tradition, women who propose during a leap year on Feb. 29 will be blessed with luck in marriage.
