LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Recording artist Zayn Malik debuted a pink hairdo on Twitter this weekend.
The former One Direction musician posted a photo of his new look Saturday, but offered no explanation for it.

The image shows the 23-year-old Brit shirtless and tattooed with the sides of his head shaved and still dark brown, while the top is longer and bright magenta.
His first solo studio album Mind of Mine is set for release March 25. "Pillowtalk," the lead single from the CD, has been a hit since it was released last month.
