A trailer for his new film 10 Cloverfield Lane, which Abrams says is "a blood relative" of his 2008 film Cloverfield, aired during Sunday's Super Bowl.

10 Cloverfield Lane stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a captive being held in a bunker by two men played by John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr.

Entertainment Weekly describes the film as a "secretive monster movie follow up."

While the first trailer, released last month, depicted a normal household with danger waiting on the outside: The second trailer reveals that it may not be so safe indoors either.

"It's not safe out there," Goodman's character warns.

"Something's coming," he warns again.

According to Variety magazine, Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane have a similar promotional style, with the nature of the danger that is lurking (the monster in the original Cloverfield) not revealed in trailers.

10 Cloverfield Lane will hit theaters March 11.
