Fans were upset when it was announced that the popular CBS legal drama was coming to an end after seven seasons.

But they were absolutely livid to see the announcement being made during the Super Bowl.

They expressed their frustration and dismay with the hashtag #TheGoodWife on Twitter.

"I don't care who loses the Super Bowl now that I know we're all losing The Good Wife at the end of this season," wrote one series fan.

"Did CBS just take out a Super Bowl ad to cancel THE GOOD WIFE," wrote another.

According to Us Weekly, the series' final nine episodes were promoted in a "dramatic ad" during the game.

Though fans are in shock, the magazine reported that the show's star, award-winning actress, Julianna Margulies already knew her fate.

The former ER star, even hinted that things were coming to end at the Casting Society of America's Artios Awards last month.

"I'm unemployed come April," she said in a speech.

The show has won five Emmy Awards and the final episode airs Sunday, May 8 on CBS.
