Stephanie Seymour faces new charges linked to DUI, aims for rehab

GREENWICH, Conn., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Former supermodel Stephanie Seymour is reportedly aiming for a rehab stay after her involvement in a crash and subsequent DUI charge.

The 47-year-old ex of Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose is reportedly facing new charges from the Jan. 15 incident due to new evidence pointing to an apparent collision with a telephone pole before the previously reported accident.

People reports the new charges include evading responsibility and failure to drive in a proper lane. She is due to appear in court Feb. 7.

CBS reports Seymour has applied for an accelerated rehabilitation program and alcohol education in an attempt to avoid criminal charges.

"It's our position this is an ordinary first offender drunk driving case," attorney Phillip Russell told the outlet. "Our experience has been most drunk drivers don't offend again. Miss Seymour has been appropriate all the way throughout the process."

Earlier this month, the former model was apprehended after an accident reportedly caused her Land Rover to flip to its side after a reverse collision on a highway ramp.

The arrest report reportedly mentioned a "strong odor" of alcohol coming from the celebrity as she spoke; she refused to complete a sobriety test at the scene.
