Adele: No candidate has permission to use my songs

LONDON, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Pop singer Adele has told all of the 2016 presidential candidates they do not have permission to use her songs.

The pop star found out her songs "Rolling in the Deep" and "Skyfall" were being played at Donald Trump rallies after fans took to social media about it. Hillary Clinton's campaign, as well as Chris Christie's and Mick Huckabee's campaigns have also played Adele songs.

"Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning," her representative in the United States, Benny Tarantini said in an email statement.

Earlier she made a similar statement to London's Independent newspaper after first finding out about the Trump campaign's usage.

Though the British pop star considers herself "a Labour girl," she's chosen to stay out of politics, on either side of the Atlantic.

Billionaire GOP front runner Trump has made it known he's a huge fan, even attending her one-night only show at Madison Square Garden in November.

However, the Bernie Sanders campaign has made Simon & Garfunkel's "America" practically the campaign's theme song in campaign ads, with Art Garfunkel's blessing.
