NEW YORK, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Activision and Platinum Games have confirmed the existence of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan by releasing its first gameplay trailer.

The long-rumored game was first outed as being in development at Platinum Games back in December after a trademark was filed for the title in Australia.

On Monday, Activison released the first trailer for the game which featured the iconic heroes in a half-shell, Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello, battling the evil Foot Clan as they prepare to take over New York City.

The new footage gives fans their first look at the game's unique cel-shaded art style and fast-paced combat system that will see the Turtles team-up to perform devastating moves and combos together.

"Battle alongside your brothers through the sewers, subways, and streets of NYC to take down Shredder and Krang's evil organization, Foot by Foot," reads the trailer's description. "Unleash custom combat skills and powerful team combos to save Manhattan from the overwhelming dark forces growing in the shadows."

Other classic foes the turtles will encounter include BeeBop, Rocksteady and the cyborg shark Armaggon.
