LOS ANGELES, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Monty Brinson, the ex-husband of reality television personality Kim Richards, has died at the age of 58.
"We have lost Monty Brinson after a brave battle with cancer. His heart was a big as the moon and he was loved by all he Met. He will be sorely missed. I love You always!" Rick Hilton said in an Instagram post Sunday.
Hilton is married to Richards' half-sister Kathy.
Richards, a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, was married to Brinson, a supermarket-franchise heir and professional poker player, 1985-88. They have one daughter, Brooke.
Us Weekly said the former couple remained close friends after their divorce and lived together again when Brinson got sick.
Richards is a former child actress who made headlines last year when she was arrested for public intoxication and resisting a police officer. She also was picked up for shoplifting in August.
