PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Jimmy Fallon doesn't have a drinking problem, NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt said.

Speaking to reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour Wednesday, Greenblatt defended the 41-year-old Tonight Show host amid concern about Fallon's multiple injuries in 2015.

"He doesn't have a drinking problem that any of us know about," Greenblatt said. "He goes out and has fun, and he's had some accidents. We are always worried about his safety and health, and yeah, there's been conversations about that, [but] the stories are exaggerated about all of it."

Fallon told fans in June he ripped his finger out of its socket after tripping over a rug, and chipped his tooth two months later while trying to open medication for his finger. He later injured his other hand after tripping at a Harvard Lampoon event.

"Jimmy Fallon is a highly valued member of the NBC family," the network told Entertainment Weekly in November. "We are proud of his accomplishments on and off camera and look forward to working with him for many years to come."

Fallon took over The Tonight Show from Jay Leno in February 2014 and is under contract with the series until 2021. He has proved popular as host, winning Favorite Late Night Talk Show Host at the People's Choice Awards this month, and is nominated for Best Comedy/Variety - Talk Series at the Writers Guild of America Awards.

Fallon introduced several popular segments to the show, including Wheel of Musical Impressions and Lip Sync Battle, the latter of which inspired a Spike TV series. The late-night host performed the Drake hit "Hotline Bling" as Bob Dylan on Wednesday's episode.
