Madonna's son, Rocco Ritchie, ordered to return to U.S.

NEW YORK, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- A judge has ordered Madonna's 15-year-old son, Rocco Ritchie, to return to the United States from Britain after the teen reportedly refused to come back for the holidays.

The pop star, 57, reportedly appeared in a New York courtroom Wednesday to get her request granted. Ritchie was previously living with his dad, Guy Ritchie, in London and may or may not concede to the judge's orders.

Madonna and director Ritchie were married between 2000 and 2008.

After spending several months touring with his mom for her Rebel Heart Tour, Page Six reports son Ritchie was tired of traveling with his mom. He also refused to return to the United States on his own accord.

"He has expressed very clearly that he does not want to return to New York," Ritchie's attorney Erick Buckley is reported to have said to the judge.

Over the summer, Madonna, full name Madonna Ciccone, told Entertainment Weekly her son would most likely "work behind the scenes" of her tour. "He's not interested in performing on stage with me right now. There's way cooler things. Your mom is not that cool when you're 14."

Recently, the singer did perform alongside adopted son David Banda during a tour stop in Paris. The duo joined guitarist Monte Pittman and sang John Lennon's "Imagine," "Ghosttown," and "Like A Prayer," to a room of fans from inside Place de la Republique -- a venue near the site of the recent Paris attacks.
