LOS ANGELES, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Self-proclaimed modern philosopher Jaden Smith is reportedly expecting to make a spiritual impact amid the upcoming release of a new book.

An alleged friend says the 17-year-old son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith is writing a collection of essays discussing new, mystical perspectives of such philosophical topics as string theory and chaos theory.

"Jaden sees himself as a modern-day prophet and is working on a collection of essays," the source told Us Weekly earlier this week. The After Earth actor reportedly operates under the belief he is spiritually connected to those in other dimensions and galaxies, "and they are helping him write," the source added.

In an October interview with GQ magazine, Smith expressed he was honored by other's reactions of him. "I feel like it's an honor, actually, for people to think I'm crazy," he said. "Because they thought Galileo was crazy, too, you know what I'm saying?"

"I don't think I'm as revolutionary as Galileo, but I don't think I'm not as revolutionary as Galileo," he added."
