Trademarks filed for new Ninja Turtles and Katamari video games

TOKYO, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Fans of both the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Katamari series of video games rejoiced recently when trademarks were filed for new games.

According to a new entry in the Australian Classification Board ratings database Monday, a new video game entitled "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan" is currently under development at independent Japanese developer Platinum Games. Activision is listed as the publisher.

This will be the third project Platinum Games develops for Activision, a company most known for action titles such as the recently released "Transformers: Devastation" and the Bayonetta series of games.

On Tuesday, publisher Bandai Namco filed a trademark with the Office for Harmonisation in the International Market for "Tap My Katamari," the most likely next entry in the critically acclaimed "Katamari" series of games.The domain name www.tapmykatamari.com has also been registered.

The last title released in the Katamari series was "Touch My Katamari" for the Playstation Vita while the Ninja Turtles were last seen in 2013's digital-only release of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows."
