Jim Carrey attends girlfriend Cathriona White's funeral in Ireland

DUBLIN, Ireland, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Film star Jim Carrey served as a pallbearer at Cathriona White's funeral Saturday in Ireland.

The 30-year-old makeup artist was Carrey's on-off girlfriend for the past three years. She died in Los Angeles of a suspected, intentional drug overdose on Sept. 28.

Hundreds of mourners turned out for her funeral in her hometown of Cappawhite in Tiperrary, People magazine reported.

A close family friend told the publication the actor appeared "terribly upset" at the service.

"It was nice that he carried her coffin," the unnamed source said. "Cathriona's sisters and family seemed very glad to have him there."
