LOS ANGELES, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber was photographed nude on his Bora Bora vacation Tuesday.

The 21-year-old Canadian singer stripped down to go skinny dipping in his private pool as rumored girlfriend Jayde Pierce lounged in her robe. The pair arrived on the French Polynesian isle over the weekend.

The snapshots, obtained by the New York Daily News, sparked renewed debate about individuals' right to privacy. Some compared the pictures to the celebrity nude photo hack of last year, which actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Jennifer Garner decried as a "sex crime" and a "violent abuse of women."

"It's sad @justinbieber #RespectJustinsPrivacy," one fan wrote on Twitter, including a screenshot of Bieber saying, "I am a human. People often forget that," on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February.

Bieber had shared clothed photos of himself enjoying the sun the same day on Instagram. The singer hasn't commented on the revealing snapshots, which also raised concern about paparazzi intrusion. The pictures are believed to have been taken with a long-focus lens.

Bieber apologized for his previous bad behavior this year, asking fans for another chance following his multiple run-ins with the law in 2014. The singer last released Believe in June 2012, and will followup with his fourth studio album, Purpose, on Nov. 13.
