WASHINGTON, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Shania Twain has canceled, and will not reschedule, two New England tour dates from her Rock This Country tour due to illness.

According to a notification posted on Twain's Facebook page Tuesday, her shows at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H. on Oct. 6 and the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. on Oct. 7 will not go on since doctors advised the singer to spend several days resting from of a respiratory infection.

"The concert dates are unable to be rescheduled due to Shania Twain's current touring schedule," the post read. All tickets, which ranged from $43 to $133 for the Albany show, will be fully refunded and the tour will resume Friday, Oct. 9 in Canada.

Fans expressed sympathy for Twain in the Facebook post's comment section, although many had traveled long distances to see the star and demand make-up dates. One commenter said she flew from Norway to see the 50-year-old singer and songwriter, prompting over 20 replies from more sympathizers.

The Rock This Country tour is Twain's first tour in 11 years and last of her career. "I feel like I'm ready to hang my hat up in that regard," she said in March. "I just really want to go out with a bang."
